Za'Veon Melvin Nelson, of Columbia, MO who departed this life far too soon. Born on May 8, 2007, in Mexico, Missouri to Donaca N. Nelson and Maurice D. Berry. Za'Veon was a vibrant young man whose presence brought light, laughter, and warmth to all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at Arnold Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Za'Veon was a passionate and dedicated football player. His strength, determination, and team spirit made him a valued teammate and an inspiration on and off the field. Za'Vean was a senior at Battle High School in Columbia. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his siblings, family, and close friends—sharing in life's simple moments.

Za'Veon is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his mother Donaca N. Nelson (Rodney) and father Maurice D. Berry; his cherished brothers Kamareon Nelson, Thommion Riley, Dacaveon Nelson; his grandfather Donald Williams and devoted grandmother Robin (Katie)Cason. He also leaves behind a host of siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Natalie Vaughn, and paternal grandparents, Tonnette M. Harris and Robert Harris. His maternal great grandparents Laura Mae Nelson, and Melvin Nelson, Norma Jean Vaughn - Kelly.  Paternal great grand grandparents Butler Creed Nunnelly Sr and Jean Loretta Nunnelly.

Za'Veon's life, though brief, was filled with love, energy, and a spirit that touched many. His legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
