William John Locksus, 102, of Mexico, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mexico.

William was born on March 13, 1923 in Springfield, Illinois, the Son of Peter Laksus and Teresa Schandor.  On November 10, 1979 he married Shirley Bridgewater in Jacksonville, Illinois.

William proudly served in the Navy in World War II.  Upon his return from service, he began work as a coal miner.  He would spend his later years working as a cement finisher.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki (Chris) Murdock of Mexico and Pamela (Paul) Harter of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Miner of Springfield, IL and Terri Petrie of Las Vegas, NV, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Locksus; parents, Peter Laksus and Theresa Schandor Hryhorysak and seven siblings.
