Willetta "Willy" Mae Phillips, 80, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Monroe Manor in Paris, MO with her soulmate Ed by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 16 at Cannon Dam Opry with Rev. Kenny Sharp conducting the service.  Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 15 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Cannon Dam Opry.

Ms. Phillips was born on May 9, 1941 in Hannibal, the daughter of William Basil and Nola Mae (Shuck) Hedgpeth.  She spent her adolescent years growing up in New London.

Willy was a talented musician.  She played keyboard with several bands and performed on the Paul Pepper Show in a group called the "Diamonds in the Rough" and the Cannon Dam Opry. She was known for her Minnie Pearl impersonation. Willy also had a passion for cooking and collecting recipes.  She enjoyed spending time researching family genealogy, going camping and following her grandchildren's sports teams.

Survivors include her soulmate, Ed Borgmeyer of Mexico; two sons, David (Gina) Phillips of Williamsburg and Greg Phillips of Mexico; one daughter, Jacque Phillips of Mexico; two "sisters", Dorothy German of Titusville, FL and Nina Sue (Harlan) Lain of Hannibal, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Willy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nola Hedgpeth, one daughter, JoDee Craddock; one granddaughter, Mindy Mae Phillips; one brother, Harold Skidrow Hedgpeth and former husband William "Jack" Phillips.

The family requests memorial donations be made to American Diabetes Association. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
