Thomas "Tom" Irven Horton, 77, of Auxvasse, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Arnold Funeral Home. Kevin Wilkerson will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until time of services on Monday, April 14, at the funeral home.

Tom was born on December 12, 1947 in Curryville, the son of Irvin H. and Beulah E. (Hudson) Horton.  On February 29, 1980 he married Brenda Kay O'Connor in Mexico.

Tom was a true lover of the outdoors, finding joy in every aspect of nature. Whether hunting, fishing, or camping, he embraced the beauty of the wilderness with enthusiasm. He cherished gatherings filled with fish fries, BBQs, and the laughter of family, friends and his precious grandchildren. Tom was always up for an adventure, attending Demolition Derbies, arrowhead hunting, and even rooster fights. His love for collecting antiques and coins reflected his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Known to his family as a "jack of all trades and master of none," Tom's humble spirit and wide array of talents brought warmth and fun to every moment. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Horton of Auxvasse; four children, Donald Parrott Jr. of Belton, TX, Tonya (Shorty) Harpole of Auxvasse, Deanna Parrott of Fulton, Robert Horton of Auxvasse; one sister, Faye Stone of Fulton; sister-in-law, Carolyn Horton of Osage Beach; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Susie Burkhead of Mexico, Donnie O'Connor of Mexico, Gene and Londa O'Connor of Madison, Angie and Rick Walker of Mexico; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Beulah Horton; first wife, Sharon Horton; two brothers, James Robert Horton and Clarence Henry Horton; one infant brother, Ralph Hadley Horton; one infant sister, Shirley Ann Horton; two daughters-in-law, Delores Parrott and Amie Horton; two brothers-in-law, Mike O'Connor and Charles Stone; brother and sister-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Brewer.

The family requests memorial donations be made to American Legion Post 1000. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
