Thelma L. Jesse, 88, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Pike officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thelma was born on March 11, 1934 in Mexico, the daughter of Abdalah and Belle (Floyd) Ahmid. On July 8, 1951 in Mexico, she married Robert F. Jesse. He passed away on November 27, 2007.

Mrs. Jesse graduated from Mexico High School. She worked for Commerce Bank and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexico. Her hobbies included crocheting.

Survivors include three children, Robert A. (Paola) Jesse of Milledgeville, Georgia, Missy (Bryan) Craven of St. Peters, and Jackie (Bobby) Duff of Jefferson City; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Thelma was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Ahmid; and one sister, Marjorie Higbee.
