Terry Lee Hooks of Auxvasse, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the age of 73, at her home.

Terry was born on December 3, 1948 in Camp Lee, Virginia, the second child of James Alfred Patterson and Marguerite (Marjorie) Clark. On August 20, 1966, she married Thomas Albert Hooks, a Vietnam veteran who passed away on July 9, 2000.

She graduated from Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, MO in 1966. She was known as a strong, independent woman who loved to take care of others. For many years, she served clients as a house cleaner, while also caring for her family as a stay-at-home mother and wife. She loved taking care of and spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Terry had a gift when it came to decorating, and her favorite holiday to decorate for was Christmas. She loved antiques and was excellent at refinishing wood pieces. She also loved living in the country, fishing, working in her flowerbeds and gardening. What she loved the most was watching the hummingbirds out on her deck and making sure the birds were well fed all year around.

Terry was loved by her children, extended family and many of her children's friends who she always welcomed into her home. Her home was known as a place with plenty of food and love for everyone.

Terry is survived by three children, Thomas (Jessica) Hooks and daughters of Columbia; Michael Hooks and Melissa Hooks of Auxvasse; two grandchildren, Caylan (Jacob) Summers and Adam Reno of Auxvasse; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Harper Summers of Auxvasse; and six siblings, Betty Jean (Eugene) Otto of Arkansas; Gary Lee (Bill) Patterson of Nebraska; Deborah (Ben) Ring of Washington; Doug (Cathy) Patterson of Tuscumbia, Missouri; David Patterson of Elsberry, Missouri; and Deya Patterson of Tuscumbia, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the early spring of 2022, to be announced at a later date and time.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas A. Hooks, and many other loved ones.
