Tanya Michelle Claudine Croney, age 45, of Mexico, Missouri, and formerly of Joplin, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Tanya was born on November 2, 1979, in Salinas, California, to James and Doris Jean (Dunn) Croney. Throughout her life, she worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide and also in the restaurant industry, always bringing warmth and care to those around her. Tanya had a love for frogs, was rediscovering the joy of crocheting, and enjoyed the thrill of gambling in her free time.

She is survived by her three children: Jesse Croney, along with his beloved pets Peach, Daisy, and Professor; Makiyla and Devin Thomas, along with their pets Baby, Luna, and Okar; and Mykal Croney, along with his pets Appollo and Ole Red, all of Joplin. Tanya is also survived by her mother, Doris Copple and step-father, Roy Copple, both of Mexico; a step-sister, Angela Copple of Kentucky; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Tanya was preceded in death by her father, James Croney; her brother, Anthony James Croney; and her step-brother and his wife, Terry and Rhonda Copple.

Tanya's family chose cremation, and they will honor her memory with a celebration of her life at a later date. In the meantime, they will hold her memory close and cherish the time they had with her.
