Shirley Jeanette Fry, 88, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

A private graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.

Shirley was born on August 11, 1936, in Fulton, Missouri, to Albert and Lola (Galbreath) Britt. She married the love of her life, Johnnie Fry, Jr., on July 18, 1956, in Fulton. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2004.

A woman of deep faith and boundless love, Shirley enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and reading the Bible. She was a devoted member of her church and cherished time spent with her family. She was a proud graduate of Lincoln University High School in Fulton, back when the university still operated as a high school program.

Survivors include four sons, Johnny Fry, Terry Fry, Thomas "Chuck" Fry all of Mexico and William Fry of Boynton Beach, FL; one daughter, Mary Fry of Columbia; six grandchildren, JR (Stacey) Fry, Alia (Kevin) Ong, Jill (James) McNairy, William Fry and Katelin (Jose) Colon; 10 great-grandchildren, Grant Fry, Ryan Fry, Jackson Fry, Terrance Ong, Jasper Ong, Jeanette McNairy, Elia Fry, Dahlia Fry, Avyanna Fry and Roman Fry; one brother, Delbert Britt of St. Charles; and two sisters, Edith Cole and Mayana Henderson both of Fulton.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Fry, Jr.; one grandson, Gavin Fry; three sisters, Mildred Rice, Martha Lee and Alberta Sanderson; and her parents, Albert and Lola Britt.
