Sandra Jean Penn, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the StoneBridge Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City surrounded by family.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Rodney Davis and Pastor Phil Alvord officiating. Burial will follow in Auxvasse Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.

The family is being served by Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.

Sandra was born on November 8, 1950, in Mexico, the daughter of Albert L. and Betty Jean (Fetterhoff) Bailey. On August 9, 1968, in Mexico, she married John Lewis Penn. He passed away on January 21, 2016.

Mrs. Penn was a 1968 graduate of Mexico High School. In her earlier years, she worked for Mexico Public Schools and a short time for the public library. Most of her married life, she was a housewife.

Sandra was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she ministered in many ways. Her involvement included playing the organ while John led worship, serving as youth director, and worked as the church secretary for some time. She enjoyed arts and crafts (especially ceramics), reading, puzzles, decorating, and dessert. She was also was a "Die Hard" St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Shelly) Penn of New Castle, Indiana and Chad (Sunny) Penn of South Korea; three grandchildren, Wesley (Anna) Penn of Jefferson City, Whitley (Tanner) Crawford of Hatton and Aly Penn of New Castle; five great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jackson and Benjamin Crawford, and Knox and Gunnar Penn; one brother, Mark (Terry) Bailey of Mexico; and a honorary grandson, Devin Helwig of Jefferson City.

In addition to her husband, John, Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Al Bailey; her mother, Betty J. Bailey Myers; and step-father, Orvin Myers.
