Sandra Lee Niekamp, 79, of Centralia, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 12, at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Fr. Dylan Schrader officiating.

Visitation is Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Arnold Funeral Home.

Sandra was born on February 13, 1942 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Adrian and Francis (Cook) Sanderson. On November 8, 1958 at St Brendan Catholic Church, she married Eugene Aloysius Niekamp, Sr. He passed away on January 2, 2012.

As a teen, Sandy worked for Logan Drug. After marriage, she was a homemaker until working for Coldwell Nursing Home. She had been a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia and St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico. Volunteering as a homeroom parent, chaperoning and teaching CCD were a few ways she gave back to the church. Sandy was also a Boy Scout Leader and assisted with countless activities of her children.

Mrs. Niekamp enjoyed sewing, baking, flowers and gardening, especially when her children did the work. She loved her family dearly and was always around them.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Janet) Sanderson of Lee's Summit, Kerry (Jim) Patterson of Jefferson City, Eugene (Karen) Niekamp, Jr. of Fulton, Karen (David) Becker of Menifee, California, Pat (Nicki) Sanderson of Thompson, Carleen (Rick) Robley of Mexico, Kevin (Alcira) Sanderson of Baltimore, Maryland, Adrienna J. Booska of Mexico, Joyce (Bryant) Fenner of Columbia, Michelle (Mike) Forsee of Centralia, Helen Noonan (James Bradley) of Columbia, and Ellen (Kenneth) O'Shea of Six Mile, South Carolina; 36 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

In addition to her husband, Eugene Niekamp, Sr., Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Paul Ryan Booska and Anthony Wayne Davidson; and one brother, Jimmy Westerfield.
