Samuel Scott Morris, 38, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his mother’s home in Auxvasse.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Samuel was born on October 11, 1987 in Columbia, the son of Sandra June Montcalm. On June 5, 2021 he married Kamya Bence in Quincy, IL.

Samuel had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in being surrounded by nature. He treasured time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved most. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Samuel had a mischievous smile and playful spirit that could light up a room and bring happiness to everyone around him. His kind heart and joyful presence will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Kamya Morris of Quincy, IL; five children, Hailea Fuhman of Quincy, IL, Leah Fuhman of Quincy, Brylee Bence of Quincy, IL, Isaiah Bence of Quincy, IL and Donald Harley Lee Morris of Illinois; three grandchildren, Vato Walker, I’Yara Walker and Vyxin Kellogg, mother, Sandra (Gene Goin) Montcalm of Auxvasse; father, Kevin Montcalm of Reeds Springs; five brothers, Jason (Amy) Montcalm of Auxvasse, Kory Montcalm of Sullivan, Robert Morris of Vandalia, Joey Morris of Auxvasse and Devin (Sheyhan) Montcalm of Reed Springs; one sister, Tara (Robert) White of Bourbon as well as many nieces and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Montcalm.
