Sammy Joe Smith, 69, of Centralia, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Smith was born on July 29, 1952 in Mexico, the son of Joe Harrison Smith and Lena Mae Duvall. On September 29, 1977 he married Sonya Caddell in Mexico.

Sammy loved old cars, hot rods and watching racing. When he watched a movie, he preferred war themed movies. Sammy enjoyed spending time with his sons fishing and hunting. He loved to pick up his grandchildren and take them cruising around. Sammy also enjoyed gardening. He was an avid history buff and staunch Donald Trump supporter.

Survivors include his wife, Sonya; three sons, Zachary Smith of Rush Hill, Gregory (Jenny) Smith of Thompson, Jesse Smith of Centralia; one brother, Alan Smith of Centralia and eight grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Summer Smith, Ethan Smith, Gregory Smith II, Wyatt Smith, Blake Smith, Alena Smith and Haleigh Fornili.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents.
