Richard Louis Lierheimer, 84, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at The Stuart House in Centralia.
Richard was born on December 24, 1940, in Audrain County to Edwin and Clementine (Doerge) Lierheimer. On May 10, 1970, he married Gayle J. Ward in Columbia. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2006.
A 1959 graduate of Mexico High School, Richard went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri, where he was an active member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. He remained close with many of his fraternity brothers throughout his life.
Richard's lifelong passion for farming began at a young age when he rented land from his Grandfather Doerge. Alongside his work in agriculture, he was also employed by Kent Realty and MFA Insurance. He was a longtime member of Mexico United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Kara (Xavier) Cabezas of Flintstone, Georgia; his son, Ernie (Erika) Lierheimer of Columbia; two grandchildren, Ella and Max Lierheimer; and his sister, Peggy Lierheimer.
In addition to his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, John Lierheimer, and his sister, Priscilla Phillips.
Private graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Stuart House, 117 S. Hickman, Centralia, MO 65240.
