Galene Griffin, 90, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at Arnold Funeral Home with burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Patricia was born on January 23, 1932, in Sheridan, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Beaulah (Patrick) West. She married Lewis E. McDermott on September 29, 1951 and he was killed in Viet Nam on December 6, 1967. Patricia married James W. Griffin on December 12, 1976 and he passed away February 15, 2011.

Galene worked for Erdle's True Value Hardware and the local fabric shop. She and her husband Jim owned Dairy Pride for a time. Galene enjoyed bowling, cross stitch and sewing.

She is survived by two sons, Kelly (Karen) McDermott of New York and Patrick (Becki) McDermott of Virginia; one step-daughter, Gina Laird of Missouri; two step-sons, Steve (Maryanne) Griffin of Missouri and Wade Griffin of Georgia; six grandchildren, Kary (John) Graser of Delaware, Kevin (Christine) McDermott of Delaware, Katherine (Scott) Cunningham of New York, Lesley (Roy) Adams of Missouri, Amanda (Robin) Anderson of Missouri and Christopher (Andie) McDermott of Missouri; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Brandon) Finkelstein of Missouri and Kristina (Paul) Love of Missouri; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis McDermott and second husband, James Griffin; two brothers, Raymond West and Lewis West; and one sister, Alice (West) Grogan.
