Opal Ruth Forman, 95, of Fulton, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Valley Park North in Fulton.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Opal was born on October 8, 1926, in Centralia, the daughter of Larkin Calverin and Linnie Ellen (Cleeton) Poff. On August 25, 1945, in Thompson, she married Weldon Warren Forman. He passed away on February 13, 2013.

Mrs. Forman graduated from Mexico High School in 1944. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar and later earned a Master's Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She was a school teacher at McMillan Elementary School, retiring after 20 years.

Opal was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a pastor's wife for over 60 years. Opal's love and attention contributed to much of her husband's pastoral success.

Mrs. Forman was a seamstress and loved to quilt and garden. She also enjoyed music and playing the piano. Later in life, she spent many hours flipping houses, a hobby she truly loved.

Survivors include four sons, Ron Forman of Fulton, Glenn (Freeda) Forman of Farber, Norman (Marty) Forman of Fulton and Todd (Kimberly) Forman of Springfield; 14 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lyndall (Janice) Poff of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Weldon, Opal was preceded in death by a foster daughter, Shirley Mayes Evans; one grandson, Randall Forman; one great-grandson, Cason Hampton; one brother, Calverin Poff; and two sisters, Essilee Hinten and Fern Brown.

Memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church or New Hope Cemetery in rural Centralia. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
