On June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, Olivia Josephine George was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While her earthly journey has come to an end, her family rejoices in knowing that she has received the eternal reward promised to those who faithfully trust in God.

Olivia Lue was born on March 3, 1941, in Mexico, Missouri, to the late Hattie Marion Givins and Joe Louis Lue. From an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by Reverend C.E. Richards at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri. Her relationship with God became the cornerstone of her life. Through every triumph, disappointment, and challenge, Olivia remained steadfast in her faith, trusting that God would carry her through every season.

Olivia was the definition of strength and resilience. She endured life’s hardships with grace, courage, and unwavering determination. No matter what obstacles she faced, she continued to fight—not with bitterness, but with faith. She believed that every battle belonged to the Lord, and her quiet confidence in God’s promises inspired everyone privileged to know her. Her life was a beautiful testimony that faith does not remove life’s storms, but it gives us the strength to endure them.

In 1973, Olivia married Tyrone Augustus George. Together they built a home filled with love, faith, laughter, and perseverance as they raised ten children. Family was Olivia’s greatest blessing and highest calling. She poured herself into those she loved, always offering encouragement, wisdom, unconditional love, and a listening ear.

Although she was a woman of deep faith, Olivia was equally known for her joyful spirit and vibrant personality. She loved bringing family and friends together, whether around a card table, enjoying games, sharing stories, laughing until tears filled the room, or listening to her favorite music. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her smile, sense of humor, and loving heart will forever remain treasured memories for those whose lives she touched.

Olivia leaves to cherish her precious memory six children: Kim Lue of Orlando, Florida; Tonette Williams (Don) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Kevin Graves of Kansas City, MO; Lance Graves (Donna) of San Antonio, Texas; Bridget McPike (Jered) of Columbia, Missouri; and Jay Graves (Tamara) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

She also leaves four cherished bonus children: Krystal Gates (Sydney) of St. Louis, Missouri; Gia Reiss (Quintin) of St. Louis, Missouri; Tyrone George (Karen) of St. Louis, Missouri; and Kim Dennis (Mark) of Atlanta, Georgia.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Carol Louis of Las Vegas, Nevada; her special sister and brother -in-love, Harriet Wells of St. Louis, Missouri and Percy Wells of Phoenix, AZ; and her dear friends, and caregivers Linda Jackson, Latricia Thompson (“Nanny”), Diane Garner, Telitha Miller, Daniel Nunnelly, and Marcia Harrington whose friendship and love meant so much to her.

Olivia’s greatest legacy lives on through her family. She was the proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren, the loving great-grandmother of 26 great-grandchildren, and the cherished great-great-grandmother of 1 great-great-grandchild. Every generation brought her immeasurable joy, and she delighted in watching her family continue to grow.

Olivia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Marion Givins and Joe Louis Lue; her devoted husband, Tyrone Augustus George; and her cherished grandson, Justin Walker.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Mexico. Visitation is Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.
