Norma Lou Applebee, 74, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at her home.

Norma was born on September 18, 1951, at her home in Callaway County, the daughter of Bud L. and Ella Mae (Moore) Beasley. On July 28, 1968, she married Kenneth W. Applebee at Harmony Baptist Church in Bachelor.

Mrs. Applebee worked as a cook and custodian for Community R-6 Schools before beginning her career as a CNA at the Missouri Veterans Home. She retired in 2011 after 15 years of service.

Norma enjoyed playing bingo and, most of all, spending time with her family. She was also a member of Sunrise Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenny Applebee of the home; two sons, Jeff (Amy) Applebee of Ashland and Harlan (Pamla) Applebee of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Jessie (Eric) Perrigo of Fulton, Dylan (Rachel) Applebee of Stockton, Dakotah (Tasha) Applebee of Mexico, Alexandria (Brandon) Cloven of Mexico, Mailyn (Garett) Jeffries of Clever, David (Danica) Knight of South Dakota, Logan (Abby) Forsee of Fulton, and Jenelle (Alex) McKinney of Fulton; 16 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Buddy (Gerrie Ann) Beasley of Auxvasse, Helen Powers of Columbia, Linda (Donald) Simcoe of Calwood, Larry “Pete” (Linda) Beasley of Perry, Leota (Tony) Lander of Auxvasse, Donald (Heysell) Beasley of Jefferson City, and Jim (Kim) Beasley of Bachelor; and one sister-in-law, Tanya Beasley of Fulton.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Ella Mae Beasley; an infant daughter, Marsha; and one brother, Ronnie Beasley.

There will be no services.
