Norbert Theodore Wieberg, 81, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 12 p.m. on Monday, June 23, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at Arnold Funeral Home.

Norbert was born on November 14, 1943 in Martinsburg, the son of William and Elizabeth (Krautz) Wieberg. He graduated from Community R-6 Schools in 1961 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, on September 26, 1961, after serving 20 years he retired on September 30, 1981.

Following his service, he graduated from Nichols Career Center and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. He worked many years for Phelps County Home Health as a hospice nurse. He then moved to Mexico and worked for many area nursing homes including the Missouri Veterans Home.

Norb enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, hunting for arrowheads and making wine. He was an outdoors guy and loved gardening, where his green thumb came in very useful.

Survivors include one daughter, Alison (Pete) Riddick of Mexico; one son, Hahn Wieberg of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Keagan (Trent) Rietzke of Kensington, Kansas, Blayne Wieberg of Plainfield, Illinois, Blair Wieberg of Columbia, and Brooklyn Wieberg of Mexico; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Rietzke and Haidyn Rietzke, both of Kensington, Kansas; one brother, Ben Wieberg of Mansfield, Texas; one sister, Kay (Dave) Swarthout of Vienna; and many nieces and nephews.

Norb was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Wieberg; three brothers, Bill Wieberg, Jerry Wieberg, and John Wieberg; and three sisters, Ann Hawley, Betsy Beiser, and Margie Payne.
