Nora Rebecca "Becky" (Harper) Craig, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at The Bluffs in Columbia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 7, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Ms. Craig was born on July 18, 1949 in Mexico, the daughter of Wilbur "Ernest" and Rita (Kerns) Harper.  She was a 1967 graduate of Mexico Senior High School. She later continued her education at Columbia College, graduating summa-cum-laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1999.

Becky was a long standing employee of A.P. Green Refractories, Quality Plastics and Robert's Consolidated.  She was an avid writer and poet with some of her writing being published.  Becky would spend her leisure time playing card games, Scrabble and Bunko.  She loved music and enjoyed going to concerts whenever possible.

Survivors include her three children, Brian (Suzanne Parker) Craig of Columbia, Mindy (Jeff) Jahn of Jefferson City and Carrie Craig of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Kaleb Thompson of St. Louis and Miranda Jahn of Seattle, WA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Rita Harper formerly of Mexico; three siblings, Sonny Harper formerly of Columbia, Bonnie McCoy formerly of Denver, CO, and Danny Harper formerly of Hallsville.  She also tragically lost her 18-year-old grandson, Sid Jahn formerly of Seattle, WA in 2017.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Columbia College Scholarship Fund.  These gifts will be directed to support the English Department to honor her passion for writing and poetry.
