Nickie L. Lewis, 41, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, in Mexico. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Nickie was born December 5, 1980, in Mexico, to the parents of Christopher Eugene Thompson and Jacqueline Colette Lewis.
Nickie graduated from Mexico Senior High School and received her Associate Degree from Metro Business College. Nickie started working at the age of 15 at Dairy Queen. Her passion was in the medical field caring for others. She worked as a CNA/CMA most of her career. Nickie went on to complete her CDL training and drove an 18-wheeler at 5 foot tall. No job was to big or small for our Humble Nickie.
Nickie was a member of Second Baptist Missionary Church where she accepted Jesus Christ. Nickie enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends who would always make them welcome in her home.
Nickie loved and loved hard. To know her was to LOVE her. Nickie loved to shop and decorate her home, hand wash her car, take vacations and especially spend time with her children. She was an excellent caregiver to children and Senior Citizens.
We are truly going to miss your beautiful smile with your deep dimples every time you graced us with your presence as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Nickie was an amazing mother of three children, soon to be grandmother of Khalis Colette LaCore Lee. She an amazing friend to all while wearing many hats.
Nickie is survived by three children, Jaylen Lee, Terrese Aaron and Anieyah Aaron; bonus daughter, Daejera Aaron; brother, Shaylyn Dean (Tramiane) of Independence; sister, Kelly Colette Lewis of Houston, TX; three aunts, Constance LaDon Johnson-Johnson of St. Louis, Holly Lewis of Arizona and Zina Mae Thompson of Columbia; seven uncles, Otis Thompson of Columbia, Donald Thompson of Columbia, Chester Thompson of Hannibal, Anthony Henderson of Kentucky, Rodney Henderson of Columbia, Theodore Lewis of Columbia and Harold Eugene West of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; great-great uncle, Lewis Moore Mexico; three nieces, Alivia Garlington, Aaliyah and Braylin Dean; one nephew, Kian Allison; many, many, many, cousins, to name a few, Julian Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Roneisha Curtis, Holly Curtis, Jayla Curtis, Ashley Miller, Antoine Adkins and LaToya Paige.
Nickie is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Juanita Thompson and Sylvia Elizabeth West-Salmon; grandfather, George Henderson; and great-grandparents, Leon and Vertna Pearl West.
Nickie touched many hearts from strangers, family and friends. Today we honor and celebrate your Life while rejoicing and thanking God for loaning you to us for 41 years. As we know and understand on earth isn't our home.
