Nicholas (Nick) J. Parrish, 64, of Thompson, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Nick was born on October 20, 1961 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of Austin and Juanita (Snow) Parrish. On March 30, 2002 he married Cindy Haubner at the St. Louis Missouri Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who survives.
Nick graduated in 1980 from Mexico Senior High School. He was a devoted Christian and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico, where he faithfully served and worked closely with the youth of the church. His life was marked by service, leadership, and a deep commitment to helping others grow. Nick was employed by Icon Mechanical Construction & Engineering LLC, National Refractories, and worked in construction, as well as at Randy's Meats. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic. He was also a proud member of Local 36.
Nick was actively involved in 4-H for more than 30 years, serving on both the board and council, and was honored with induction into the 2025 Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame. He was also a dedicated Boy Scout leader and a proud member of the Order of the Arrow. His passion for youth development extended to his involvement with the Centralia FFA Alumni Association.
Nick had a deep love for farming, livestock shows, and the agricultural community. He especially enjoyed supporting Nicholas and Maelea at horse shows and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on and was a show dad to anyone who needed one. Traveling, spending time with family, and attending livestock events were among his greatest joys.
Nick was known for his great sense of humor, he loved joking and bringing laughter wherever he went. Above all, he cherished time with his family and found purpose in mentoring and supporting young people. His legacy of faith, service, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Cindy; one son, Nicholas Parrish (Jessica) of Mexico; one daughter, Maelea Parrish of Thompson; one sister, Anita Wiggins (Jack) of Dillon, Montana; two grandchildren, Aubrey Martin and Parker Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Parrish; and second wife Deb Martin.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Audrain County 4-H or Callaway Rough Riders. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
