Neoma Beal, 85, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Pin Oak Living Center, surrounded by the love of her family.

Neoma was born on May 8, 1941, in Hancock, Missouri, to James Earl Null and Eula Marthell (Cusick) Null. She often shared cherished memories of her childhood, especially how her parents and siblings affectionately called her "Babe." Those stories brought a smile to everyone who knew her and reflected the close bond she shared with her family throughout her life.

On February 23, 1957, Neoma married the love of her life, Calvin Beal, in New London, Missouri. Together they built a life centered on hard work and devotion to their family.

Neoma was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She was employed at the Garment Factory and later at Mexico Plastics, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. Outside of work, she embraced life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time fishing, listening to bluegrass music, and traveling to bluegrass festivals throughout the central and southeastern United States. One of her greatest joys was recounting the times she met some of her favorite bluegrass artists, including Rhonda Vincent, The Whites, Ricky Skaggs, and Marty Stuart. One of the family’s most treasured traditions was loading up after school on Friday, with the kids leaving straight from school, and heading out to bluegrass festivals. They would return home on Sunday night, tired but happy, carrying memories of music, laughter, and time spent together that they would always hold close to their hearts. Above all else, Neoma treasured the time she spent with her family, who were the center of her life.

Neoma is survived by her children: Earl (Jo) Beal of Knoxville, Iowa; Judy Rose of Auxvasse, Missouri; Linda Welschmeyer of Martinsburg, Missouri; JoAnn (Dean) Mackey of Rush Hill, Missouri; and Jackie Beal of Mexico, Missouri. She is also survived by her siblings: Virgil Null, Jim Null, Joe Null, Darlene Witt, and Daffany Hood, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Beal; her son, Vernon Beal; her son-in-law, Ronnie Welschmeyer; her parents, James Earl Null and Eula Marthell (Cusick) Null; and her siblings, Ruby (Null) Chaffen, Curtis Null, Violet (Null) Wells, and Vernon Null.

Neoma will be remembered for her stubborn spirit, independent nature, and the way she always managed to keep her family on their toes. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind or stand her ground, but beneath that strong exterior was a deep and unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, and family. Whether she was sharing stories, enjoying a day of fishing, listening to bluegrass music, or simply spending time with those she loved, Neoma left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Her laughter, determination, and the memories she created with her family will be cherished for generations to come.

Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with those who went before her.
