Michele Lynn Norfleet, 56, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia surrounded by loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at the 4-H Center in Mexico.

Michele was born on May 12, 1969, in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Glenn and Lana (Wright) Norfleet.

Michele graduated from Mexico High School in 1987. Following graduation, she attended William Woods and majored in Food Service Management. On August 10, 1991 she married Curtis Sargent.

Over the years, Michele held numerous jobs throughout Mexico. As her health began to decline, she devoted much of her life to raising her daughters as a stay-at-home mom, a role she cherished deeply. She then transitioned to part-time substitute teaching — a role she truly loved and where she continued to make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless students.

Michele had a servant heart. She generously gave her time as a volunteer whenever and wherever she was needed — from the 4-H Center to PTO events and her children's sporting activities. She ran the Audrain County 4-H Food stand for many years. She loved to make others happy, to shop, had a great appreciation for food, and most of all, she loved her family.

Known for her big heart and unwavering kindness, Michele touched the lives of everyone she met.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kylie (Nick) Stumpe of Centralia and Lily Sargent of Sedalia; three beloved grandchildren, Cooper, Jameson, and Leanna Stumpe, all of Centralia; her ex-husband, Curtis Sargent of Mexico; her father, Glenn Norfleet of Bloomfield, IA; two sisters, Christy (Doug) Aylward and Lisa (Brad) Doster, both of Memphis; and nieces and nephew Brock (Anna) Aylward, Bryn Aylward, Abby Doster, and Laney Doster.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lana Norfleet.
