Michael Wayne Horton, 61, of Laddonia, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at University of Missouri Hospital.

Michael was born on September 3, 1962 in Columbia, the son of Robert Bushnell and Martha Horton.  On January 22, 1993 he married Virgina Meyer in Mexico.

Michael lived a life full of energy and purpose, always on the move and finding joy in both work and leisure. He had a passion for helping others, dedicating his time and skills to those in need. Michael was also an avid collector of old riding mowers, which he meticulously serviced and generously passed along to others, sharing his love for mechanical work with his community.  Accompanied by his brother Galen, he often enjoyed riding around looking to site deer.

Above all, Michael cherished his role as a papa to Carter and Cameron. He found immense joy in their company, often spending time fishing and riding four-wheelers together. The bond they shared was a testament to his loving and nurturing spirit.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Horton of Laddonia; one daughter, Sarah (Sean) Ford of Columbia; two grandsons, Carter and Cameron Ford; two sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Russell of Owafonna, MN, Kathy (C.W.) Fox of Laddonia; three brothers, Kevin Bushnell of Mexico, Ricky (Krisi) Bushnell of Mexico and Galen (Pam) Horton of Laddonia as well as several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Carl Horton, Jim Bob Horton and Richie Horton
