Michael Dennis Buckner, 63, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at his home.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Linda Edwards officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 1:45 at Arnold Funeral Home.

Michael was born on November 8, 1958, in Fulton, the son of Marvin and Alice Florence (Galbreath) Buckner. He married Troi Jaye Adkisson on April 5, 1980, in Mexico. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2017.

Mike had a love for guitars and music.  While he enjoyed all genres of music, including blues, classic rock, and R&B, he had a special appreciation for the works of Jimi Hendrix.  Mike had a love of animals, and it is impossible to count the number of stray cats that he rescued over the years.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, talking with his sister, Marnita, and reminiscing about his childhood in rural Callaway County.  He was known as "Uncle Mike" by not only his many nieces and nephews, but also their friends, and he was grateful for each of those relationships.  He was a wonderful grandfather and loved each of his grandkids endlessly.  He enjoyed nature walks, the outdoors, and had a great appreciation for the simple things in life.  Mike was an easy-going, fun-loving guy, who was driven by his faith in God and the love he had for his family and friends.

Michael is survived by three children, Destini (Jamie) Woods of Auxvasse, Meka Buckner (Derrell Curtis) of Mexico, Shauna Landin (J. Heileman) of Mexico; one sister, Marnita Buckner of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Royce Adkisson, De'Shon Fountain, Teryeus Adkisson, Logan Woods, Karma Buckner Curtis, Haven Woods and Elowen Woods; and one great-grandchild, Ayden Vickery.

He is preceded in death by his wife and soulmate, Troi Buckner; parents, Marvin and Alice Buckner; and sister, Pat Sallee.
