Michael Richard Allen, 71, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at University of Missouri Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Arnold Funeral Home. Gary Hood will be officiating the service.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
Michael was born on January 17, 1953 in Hannibal, the son of Clyde and Venice Alberta (Gibbons) Allen.
Michael was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his strong work ethic. As a blue-collar man, he worked tirelessly, often putting in overtime to ensure his children had everything they needed. His selflessness and determination were evident in his every action, and his love and support were the cornerstone of his family's foundation.
Michael was a man of few words but immense wisdom. He possessed a quiet strength and a sharp intellect, always eager to learn and explore new ideas. He had a genuine care for people and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. His pride in his children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Generous to a fault, Michael had a heart of gold and never judged others. He embraced diversity and lived with an open mind, valuing kindness and compassion above all else. His love for science and his curiosity about new innovations were passions that enriched his life and inspired those around him.
Michael Richard Allen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Survivors include one daughter, Mindy (Jeff Reynolds) Allen of Mexico; one son, Kevin (Natalie Foster) Allen of St. Louis; one sister-in-law who he raised like his own, Lori (Ted) Schultz of Campbellsville, KY; three grandchildren, Cory Allen, Kamille Reynolds and Sylvia Allen; one brother, Bob Allen of Hannibal; one sister, Joyce (Roger) Giboney of Mexico as well as several cousins, family members and good friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Alberta Allen, one brother, Donald Allen and an infant son, Daniel Allen.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, P.O. Box 414238, Boston, MA, 02241-4238.
