Mary Ellen Mullen, 87, of Rush Hill, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. Brendan Church with Fr. David Veit officiating. Burial will follow in St. Brendan Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Mary was born on May 14, 1937, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond Edward and Ellen Sofia (Munthe) Murphy. She married Thomas Arthur Mullen on February 23, 1968, at St. Michael Catholic Church.

Dr. Mullen had a deep love for horses, spending many joyful years riding and showing them. Her passion for horses was matched only by her generosity and care for others. Whether she knew them personally or not, Mary had a heart for everyone, always ready to lend a helping hand. She touched countless lives with her kindness, warmth, and selflessness. Her legacy of compassion will be remembered by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by two children, Victoria Prior (Peter Lavigne) and Sean (Candy) Mullen both of Rush Hill; eight grandchildren, David, Sophie and Eric Prior, Shard Mullen, Jane, Kevin, Bethany and Caleb Claggett; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; and a sister, Colleen Murphy.
