Margie Ruth Francis, 91, of Wellsville, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at ANew Healthcare in Wellsville.

Visitation will be at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Margie was born on September 1, 1932, in Cuivre, Missouri, the daughter of William Edward and Sarah Ruth (Johnson) Deichman.

Margie graduated from Vandalia High School with the class of 1950 and in August, married Nathaniel Reading, Jr. They had one child, Rhonda Reading Hall. Being an Air Force family, they were stationed in Greece and France. Margie loved traveling and site seeing throughout Europe.

In 1963, she moved back to Missouri and in 1964, she married Bert Francis. They enjoyed many softball games. She played in a women's league for awhile and, of course, went to all of Bert's games. They also enjoyed going to Florida, especially Sanibel Island. However, she was most proud of her only grandson, Aaron Hall, and her two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Eliana.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Hall of Wisconsin; grandson, Aaron (Melissa) Hall of Wisconsin; and two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Eliana Hall.

Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Deckerd; step-father, Edward Deckerd; and father, Bill Deichman.
