Madge Lucienne Moore, 100, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the King's Daughters Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico, with Rev. Dr. Susan Presley officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

Madge was born January 30, 1926, in Valdosta, Georgia, the daughter of R.E. and Uldene (Sheppard) Miller. On October 20, 1944, in New York City, she married Walter D. Moore, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 12, 2005.

Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and the King's Daughters. She enjoyed gardening and was an active member of the Mexico Garden Club. Madge devoted much of her time to caring for others and volunteering with organizations that served the community, most notably, Audrain Medical Center. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and worked as an election poll worker.

She dearly loved her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, and faithfully stayed in touch with them throughout her life. While living at the King's Daughters Home, she treasured the friendships she made with both old and new friends. The kindness and care she received from the dedicated staff brought her comfort, joy, and most definitely extended her life. Madge also remained close to her church family, whose personal visits and continued support stayed with her until her passing.

She is survived by three children, Dan Moore of St. Augustine, Florida, Gail Blake of Louisville, Kentucky, and Bruce (Bette) Moore of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Stephanie) Moore, Brian Moore, Amy (Sunny) Weathers, Kate (Joey) Turley, Eric (Casey) Blake, Colin (Regina) Blake, Zaac Cook, Candice (Brian) Cook, Andy (Megan) Moore, and Jackie Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by one son, Barry Moore; three brothers, Eric Miller, Kenyon Miller, and Grantland Miller; one sister, Helen Salter; and a special family member, Lawrence Epple.
