Loyd Lenwood Dodd, Jr., 80, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Moberly Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at Arnold Funeral Home with Sara Bright officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Loyd was born in Montgomery County on June 15, 1942, the son of Loyd Lenwood Dodd, Sr. and Dorothy (Banks) Dodd. On October 22, 1962, in St. Louis, he married Karen Sue Sulgrove.

After graduating from Wellsville High School in 1962, he worked at MFA Soybean Mill for 10 years, maintenance supervisor at A.P. Greens for 25 years, and the energy center at Audrain Medical Center for 10 years.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Mexico and served as a deacon for several terms.

In addition to his wife Karen, survivors include daughters, Melissa Erdel (Robbie) of Mexico, Dawn Smith (Gary) of St. Louis, Michelle Warmbrodt (Jim) of Mexico, and Stephanie McCord of Mexico; grandchildren, Megan Prater (Scott), Lauren Cuno (Casey), Amanda Warmbrodt (Zane), Amber Smith (Marc), Tyler Warmbrodt (Abbie) and Miranda Smith; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Cody, Lilly, Audrey, Oakley, and Braelyn; sister, Ida Gerst of St. Charles; sister in-law, Kay Larkin (Robert) of Mexico; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Patricia Hill (John); brother, William Dodd; son-in-law, Bryan McCord; and mother-in-law and father-in-law.
