Lonnie Dale Hovis, 65, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his home.

A private Memorial Service may be held at a later date.

Lonnie was born on May 8, 1957, in St. Louis, the son of Utah Thomas and Alta Uldine (Godbey) Hovis.

He enjoyed riding is Harley Davidson and collecting coins. Lonnie loved his dogs "Foxy" and "Pretty Girl" like they were his children.

Lonnie is survived by two daughters, Charmaine Hovis of Mexico and Cerstin (Dennis) Elders; 10 grandchildren; five brothers, Delmar (Evelyn) Hovis and Thomas Hovis both of St. Louis, Fred Mertz, Jim Schlechter and Harold Hovis; two sisters, Charolette Mann of Mexico and Barb Schlechter; and one niece, Shellonda Mann (Brad Jahn) of Mexico.

He is preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Hershel Hovis, Patrick Mertz, Woody Schlechter and Terry Hovis.
