Lillie B. Oliver, 87, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Arnold Funeral Home. Rev. David Leslie will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until time of service on Monday, October 7, at the funeral home.
Lillie was born on September 11, 1937, the daughter of Paul Clifton and Hattie Marion (Phillippe) Jesse. On March 31, 1961 she married Samuel Oliver in Mexico. They spent 63 wonderful years together.
A graduate of Centralia High School, she worked at the city of Mexico and held various jobs until her retirement. She was a long-time member of Kentucky Road Christian Church and a devout Christian.
Lillie was stricken with an aggressive form of rheumatoid arthritis that never got her down. She loved to bake cakes, cookies and make her famous deviled eggs. Lillie enjoyed playing cards with her friends and going to the Mexico Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Oliver of Mexico; two children, Tammy (Tony) Henderson of Versailles, KY, Michelle (Lee) Eddy of Mexico; three grandchildren, Jillian Current of Mexico, Tyler (Rachel) Appling of Versailles, KY, Ariel (Cory) Smith of Versailles, KY; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Martha) Jesse of Columbia; one sister, Roberta Dake of Austin, IN; one sister-in-law, Vicki (Don) Mason of Mexico and one daughter-in-law, Jeannine Oliver.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hattie Jesse; one son, Jim Oliver; one grandson, Evan Current; four brothers and one sister.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Kentucky Road Christian Church or Mexico Senior Center. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
