Laura Jane Williams, 75, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

Laura was born on July 2, 1949, in Vandalia, the daughter of Lawrence Wesley and Artie Lena (Nadin) Shafer. On March 12, 1993 in Centralia, she married Roy Ed Williams.

Laura had worked for Hubbell Power Systems, retiring after 39 years. She was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Williams of the home; two children, Johnnie (Karen) Adkisson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Suzanne Adkisson of Denton, Texas; one step-son, Jason (Emily) Williams of Centralia; five grandchildren, Christopher Adkisson, Coady Adkisson, Casey (Josh) Petrice, Cheston Williams, and Charlotte Ray Williams; one great-grandson, Memphis Petrice; one sister, Marie Richard of Seattle, Washington; two brothers, Arthur (Mary Ann) Shafer of Hatton and Mike (Nancy) Shafer of Hemphill, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by one son, Robert Adkisson; one step-son, Gary Williams; and one sister, Judy Gentry.
