Larry Chandler, 83, of Laddonia and formerly of Louisiana, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia.

He will be laid to rest at "The Three Churches" Cemetery near Louisiana.

There will be no services at this time.

Larry was born on June 9, 1940, in Pike County, Missouri. He was the son of James Edward Chandler Jr and Eileen Beck Chandler.

Larry went on to marry the love of his life, Rhonda Sisson Chandler, in November 1994. Together, they combine to have seven children, Lawanda Muschamp, of Dexter, MO, Lorrie Walker of Laddonia, MO, Dustin Burbridge of Springfield, MO, Loretta Hawkins of Louisiana, Mo, Larry Chandler, Jr. of Center, MO, Cheryl Chandler of Arkansas, and Joshua Chandler of Bowling Green, MO. Larry also has 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Larry and his surviving wife, Rhonda, built a life together and enjoyed a very laid-back lifestyle. Larry enjoyed long drives, looking at nature's beauty and being around his animals. He always took care of any strays. Larry enjoyed spoiling all of his grandchildren. Often the children would prefer him over their parents. Larry enjoyed fishing and being near the river, as well as sitting on the porch taking in all mother nature's beauty. Whether he was with hummingbirds or gazing at the stars, you could always find him with a cup of coffee in his hand while often speaking words of wisdom.

He served six years in the Navy, and was very proud to have served his country. He shared many stories of his time serving with family and friends.

Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother. He will be dearly missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eileen Chandler; three brothers, David Chandler, Carol Chandler and Clark Chandler; as well as one sister, Margaret Leverich.
