Kimberly "Kim" Kay Wenzel, 64, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, surrounded by her family at University of Missouri Hospital, after a difficult battle with diabetes-induced liver disease.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Arnold Funeral Home. Minister Cody Adams will be officiating the service. Private burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of services on Saturday, February 15, at the funeral home.

Kim was born on August 31, 1960, in Mexico, the daughter of Rothmer Dale and Betty Marie (Marshall) Barnett.  She shared a loving marriage with Michael "Mike" Wenzel, being married in Mexico on July 25, 1981.

Kim enjoyed the entirety of her professional career in healthcare, including over 40 years of service with Audrain Medical Center. Her professional enjoyment stemmed from a deep caring for those around her. She was passionate about spending time with her family and socializing with those she loved, which extended into an interest in her ancestry via genealogy research. Additionally, she found great enjoyment in quilting, scrapbooking, and other crafting activities.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Brian Wenzel; two daughters, Michelle Wenzel and Crista Wenzel; three brothers, Kevin (Teresa) Barnett, Terrell (Ghia) Barnett, and Darrell (Ashley) Barnett; sister Sheryl (Danny) Felix; two brothers-in-law, Tim Polacek and Dewey Qualls; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Humphrey, Kaye (Charlie) Bigelow, and Teresa Wenzel; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Bill and Edna Wenzel; brother, Steve Humphrey; two sisters, Teresa Polacek and Sandy Qualls; half-brother, Dale Barnett; half-sister, Fern Epperson; and brother-in-law, Kevin Wenzel.
