Khala Corryn Fowler, of Mexico, Mo, passed away on 07/02/2022.

Khala Fowler was born 05/18/1991 in Columbia, Missouri, to Kimberly Long and Rahim Hakeem (Chucky Nunnelly) and was raised by parents Kimberly Long and Clifton Long of Mexico, MO. Khala grew up with her sisters Kymberly Oguejiofor (Fowler) and Kai-Lyn Devine (Fowler) and brothers Shaq Curtis, Deontae Curtis,Dominque Brookens, Biagio Davenport, Kelin Cobbins, and Deshaun Dingledine. Khala had a close bond with her brothers and sisters.

Khala graduated from Mexico Senior High School in 2009. Khala actively engaged in sports throughout high school and made several life-long friends. Khala was loved by many. After graduation, Khala continued her education at Lincoln University (Jefferson City, Mo) and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a general emphasis in juvenile corrections.

In 2016 Khala welcomed a handsome son named Boston Dorsa Spence, whom she adored and was the most important part of her life. Khala also loved her nieces and nephews and often referred to them as her babies. Khala was the fun aunt and enjoyed having them in her presence. Khala was looking forward to meeting her new niece, who will be born on October 20, 2022. In Khala's honor, her niece will be named after Khala.

Khala worked for J. Pfenny's Sports Grill & Pub as a manager/bartender/server for seven years. Khala loved working for the family-owned company and made several friends she considered family while working there. In 2019 Khala transitioned in her career and took on the Probation & Parole officer role with the Missouri Department of Corrections. Khala loved the people she worked with.

Khala's death was sudden and a shock to all; while living, Khala touched many lives with her generosity and selfless demeanor. Khala is preceded in death by her grandmother Helen Fowler, great-grandfather Wesley Bryant Sr. and great-grandmother Flossie Marie Bryant, great-aunt Margaret Burks, great-uncle Wesley Bryant Jr., and birth father, Rahim Hakeem. Khala is survived by mother Kimberly Long, Father Clifton Long, Grandfather Harry Fowler, and uncle Jason Fowler (Jasmine), sister Kymberly Oguejiofor (Kennedy), sister Kai-Lyn Devine (Jordan), brother Shaq Curtis (Kayla), brother Deontae Curtis (Elizabeth), brother Dominque Brookens, brother Biagio Davenport, brother Kehn Cobbins, brother Deshaun Dingledine, and five paternal siblings on her late father's side – Sandace Palmer, Stacia Gallien, Canaan Gardner, Messiah Simpson, and Crenda Warren, and a slew of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be on July 22, 2022, from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at Arnold's Funeral Home Mexico, Mo 65265

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm.

There will not be a burial service to follow as Khala's wishes were cremation.
