Kenneth Stacy Hudson, 62, of Auxvasse, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery in Auxvasse.

Visitation is Friday evening from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kenny was born on March 19, 1962, in Mexico, the son of David Ottmer and Sarah Jane (Huss) Hudson, Sr. On June 30, 1984, in Mexico, he married Janet Stubblefield.

Mr. Hudson was a 1980 graduate of North Callaway High School. In earlier years, he worked for a long-time friend (Warren Martin) with farming crop fields and hauling hay, Show Me Oil gas attendant, Pasley's Grocery Store in Auxvasse, constructed cable TV towers for Needham's Associates (Paul Dugan), Osage Beach, Mo, built boat docks in the lake area with a close friend Dwight Sparks, laborer for Bob Walker at Walkers Harvest Stores, car salesman for Tony Adams, Baumgartner's Furniture Store in Auxvasse, and ABC Labs in Columbia Mo.  Later in life, he was a self-employed mechanic owning a couple of auto shops in the Auxvasse area over the years (Hud's Oldies but Goodies, Hud's Garage and Hud's Sales and Service).

Kenny loved antiques, collectables, garage sales and looking for that special barn find everywhere he traveled, whether it was a backroad, highway, or someone's field. He was always rubber necking searching for any old car or truck that he considered a treasure to bring back to the shop to tease all his friends and family. Kenny's favorite all time annual events were swap meets.  He was so excited to receive his paperwork in the mail to upcoming auto swap meet, so he could load up and head out to meet his friends, brothers and nephews for the weekend.  He met and treasured many good friends over the years everywhere he went.  One of his favorites was the annual Martinsburg Car Show, Cruise Night and Teddy Joes.  Those events were his life, and he was the life of the party. He also loved attending the Spoon River Scenic Drive in Fulton County, Illinois every fall with his wife, Janet.  That was a fulfillment that he looked forward to every year searching for those collectables, antiques, garage sales finds and anything unusual that got his eye.  He also loved going to truck and tractor pulls, family reunions, having fish fries, BBQs and hanging out with his friends, grandkids and family. If the light was on in the shop, and the door was open, he had a circle of friends and family members that were there to visit and have a beer or two talking about daily things and reminiscing the good and bad times.  In addition, Kenny was completely dedicated to taking care of Concord Church and Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Hudson of the home; his children, Cory (Mandy) Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, Stacey (Brandon) Taylor of Auxvasse, Sabrina (Alex) Hudson of Perry, Payton Olsson, Sophia Olsson, Abria Olsson and Jaina Olsson all of Auxvasse; 12 grandchildren, Piper, Tanner, Brayden, Kenna Jo, Bennett, Aly, Makenzie, Kenny, Hunter, Carson, Ivy and Darren; five brothers, David (Laura) Hudson, Jr. of Auxvasse, Sidney (Tammie) Hudson of Auxvasse, Stanley (Carla) Hudson of Williamsburg, Ron (Melinda) Hudson of Auxvasse, Frankie (Cindy) Hudson of Auxvasse; one sister, Wendy (Gene) Moore of Auxvasse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many special friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, David and Sarah "Nanny Bert" Hudson, Sr.; and one daughter, Stephanie Hudson Olsson.
