Karen Kay (Smithee) Patrick, 82, of Mexico, formerly of Auxvasse, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 10, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Arnold Funeral Home with Jason Smithee officiating the service. Friends may visit prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
Karen was born on January 26, 1940 in Mexico, the daughter of Claude and Agnes (Griffith) Woolfolk. On October 30, 1958, in Mexico, she married Dale Smithee, who preceded her in death in 1998.
Karen was a feisty and strong woman who was fiercely loyal to her family, dedicating her life to them. She was a 1957 graduate of Mexico High School. Karen worked with her husband Dale at their business, Mexico Electric. She was an expert seamstress, sewing clothes for her daughters. She also enjoyed traveling. Karen was a member of Grand Prairie Baptist Church of Auxvasse.
In 2004 she married Richard Patrick of Mexico.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Patrick of Mexico; three daughters, Pam (Bryan) Crawford of Hatton, Debbie Smithee Guibor of Auxvasse, Tara Smithee Jones of Fulton; one son, Darrin Smithee of Auxvasse; 10 grandchildren, Brandon (Jess) Crawford of Hatton, Kayanna (Clay) Hardesty of Hatton, Tanner (Marena) Crawford of Hatton, Morgan (Todd) Pritchett of Fulton, Cody (Emery) Jones of Auxvasse, Makenlea (Josh) Montague of Fulton, Alexa Jones of Fulton, Addisyn Jones of Fulton, Dalton (Courtney) Smithee of Auxvasse, Wyatt Smithee of Mexico; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnnie (Carole) Woolfolk; one sister, Mary Nelle Brooke of Columbia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Claude (Elizabeth) Wookfolk and Agnes Jones; her husband, Dale Smithee and one brother Warren D. Woolfolk.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Grand Prairie Baptist Church of Auxvasse. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
