Judy Faye Whitesides, 73, of Mexico, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27th at Mexico Church of God Holiness, 1215 W. Boulevard, Mexico, MO.

Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Judy was born on July 22, 1950, in Mexico, the daughter of Marvin and Helen (Cox) Smith.

Judy loved people and didn't know a stranger. She retired from AMC after twenty-five years.  She would spend time watching birds, squirrels and any other animal that would wander by her window.  Judy enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and her favorite player Yadier Molina.  She loved her family dearly including her nieces, nephews and her dialysis team which she adopted as family.

Survivors include one son, Ryan (Melynda) Whitesides of Mexico; one daughter, Carrie Smith of Mexico; four grandchildren, Josh Whitesides, Matthew Whitesides, Libby Whitesides and Aubrey Whitesides; two sisters, Beverly (Kenneth) Walker of Auxvasse and Karen Williams of Fulton; one brother, Otis (Sue) Smith of Lewistown; and two great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Helen Smith; and one infant son.
