Judith "Judy" Faye Cooper Lowery, 85, of Dardenne Prairie, originally from Mexico, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Caregivers Inn in Dardenne Prairie.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, at the Dardenne Presbyterian Church in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, February 19, at the church.

Judy was born on December 19, 1940, in Mexico, Missouri, the fourth of eight children born to James Fenimore and Edith Gertrude (Weidler) Cooper. She was a 1958 graduate of Mexico High School and later earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

Judy devoted her life to education, teaching at John Burroughs High School, North Kirkwood Junior High School, Kirkwood High School, and later at St. Charles High School, where she taught for more than 30 years. While at St. Charles High School, she also served as the girls' track coach and took great pride in the fact that one of her athletes went on to compete in the 1996 Olympics. In addition to coaching, Judy was a referee for high school and college basketball and volleyball games for more than 30 years.

She was a faithful member of Dardenne Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, and volunteered in many capacities throughout the years.

Survivors include two sisters, Jody Fetterhoff of Mexico and Jill Cooper of Kingdom City; along with several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James F. and Gertrude Cooper; three brothers, Lt. Col. (Ret.) James A. Cooper, Jerry Cooper, and John Weidler Cooper; and two sisters, Jane Anne Cooper Guthrie and Jennifer Cooper Nunes.
