Joyce Bryant Jackson, 89, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall on August 2, 2025.

Joyce was born on July 23, 1935, in Vandalia, Missouri, the daughter of Wesley and Flossie Bryant. She graduated salutatorian from Garfield High School in 1953. On December 21, 1973, she was united in marriage to Nathaniel Leonard Jackson in Mexico.

Over the years, Joyce dedicated herself to several professions. She worked as a housekeeper for J.B. Arthur, then as an accountant for A.B. Chance, and later became the office manager for the Audrain Medical Center Mental Health Department. She concluded her professional career as the Regional Director of CMAAA, retiring in 2004.

A devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Joyce lived a life of faith and service. She was a gifted musician, having started playing piano at the age of four, and generously shared her talent entertaining seniors in nursing homes, providing accompaniment for church choirs, and by teaching piano lessons to many throughout her life. In addition to her love for music, she was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting.

Joyce was deeply committed to her community. She volunteered at women's shelters supporting survivors of domestic violence, baked bread for the ill, served on the Garfield School Board and the Mexico Housing Authority Board, and, alongside her husband Nate, was a dedicated foster parent. She also loved going out in service with her sisters and brothers to spread the teachings of Jehovah.

She is survived by her loving husband, Nate Jackson; her children: Willis Davis Jr., Judith Davis-Ivory, Donna Davis, Michele Simmons, Victor Saadiq-Abdul-Muhammad, and grandchildren: Lisa Gould, Timothy Davis, Deanna Anderson, Jonathan Ivory, Kyle Reznicek, Bryan Reznicek, Bre'Auna Pontiflet, Lashaun Davis, Brandon Davis, Crystal Davis, Danielle Marie, Gregory Allen, Christian Alexander, Aaliyah Monet, Amirah Ma'Ali, Alexis Nicole, Aysha Monique,; and great-grandchildren: Jazmine Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Lucas Reznicek, Edyn Richie, Avery Reznicek, Aaliyah S., Arreona D., Chamar N., Kaylin W., Gavin W., Kourtney, Mason, Trevon, and Jonathon Jr.  She is also survived by two sisters, Laura Williams and Ethel Tinder, sister-in-laws Shirley Driver, Pat Williams, and Willisteen Miller. Along with Brother-in-laws Paul Tinder, Weldon Williams, and Edward Williams, and many other cherished family members and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Wesley Bryant Jr., and two sisters, Margaret Burks and Helen Fowler, and grandchildren Mariah Davis and Aaron Davis.

She will be remembered for her kindness, talent, strength, and unwavering love and dedication to her family, community and faith.
