Joseph Howard Duckworth, 67, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Joseph was born on August 26, 1959 in Fulton, the son of William Duckworth Sr. and Virgina Louise (Qualls) Duckworth.

Joe had a deep love for livestock and took great pride in caring for and nurturing his animals. He enjoyed farm work and was happiest when he was outdoors, working with his hands and tending to the things that mattered to him. In his younger years, he worked in construction, where he developed a strong work ethic and a talent for building and fixing things. He was also someone others could always count on, willing to lend a hand and help anyone who needed him. His kindness, hardworking nature, and love for animals and the farm will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include one brother, Bill (Jackie) Duckworth of Mexico; one sister, Candy Johnston of Mexico; several nieces and nephews; as well as several cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virgina Duckworth; one son, Caleb Duckworth.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
