Joseph "Joe" Francis Deimeke, 95, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at his home.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 27, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Arnold Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited following visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 28, at St. Brendan's Catholic Church. Fr. David Veit will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at St. Brendan's Cemetery.

Joe was born on November 1, 1930 in Martinsburg, the son of Joseph George Deimeke and Dorothy (Seckler) Deimeke. On December 19, 1999 he married Lily Sparks at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Mexico. They shared nearly 55 years of their lives together.

He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was tending the grill and perfecting his barbecue, playing a friendly game of shuffleboard or pool, or spending hours working on cars, he was always happiest when his hands were busy and his loved ones were nearby. He had a deep appreciation for western movies and old country music, often enjoying both as he relaxed after a long day. Fishing brought him peace, but nothing meant more to him than time spent with his family, sharing stories, laughter, and meals. For over 35 years, he proudly owned and operated Deimeke Enterprises, where he built not only a business, but many lasting friendships within the community. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, and previously a member of the Elks Club and Moose Lodge. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of life, and the many memories he created with those he cherished most.

Survivors include his wife Lily Deimeke, of the home; six children: Tanis (Jeff) Blair of Mexico, Jennifer (Robbie) Moss of Mexico, Kenny (Elgie) Deimeke of Mexico, Jan Deimeke of Mexico, Carolyn Deimeke (Sheila Hagar) of Arizona, and Kathy (Mike) Hudson of Thompson; one daughter in law, Barb Deimeke of Thompson; 13 grandchildren: Josh, Mariah, Kayla, Alex, Addison, Chrissie, Sara, Matt, Nick, Kylie, Pamela, Marie, and Mickie; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Deimeke; one son, Bob Deimeke; one grandchild, Alibbie Hudson; three siblings: Bill Deimeke, Edmund Deimeke, Vivian Ditto; and his first wife, Barbara Jane (Smith) Deimeke.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Knights of Columbus. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
