John D. Maylee, Jr., 61, of Hodgenville, Kentucky, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, at East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico.

John was born on August 15, 1963, the son of John David Maylee Sr. and Ellen Turnbough Maylee.

Mr. Maylee had worked as an Industrial Maintenance Tech for ADM in Mexico before moving to Kentucky.

John was passionate about football, especially as a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and had extensive knowledge of the game. He was also deeply involved in cockfighting, where he built connections with others who shared his interest.

Survivors include his mother, Ellen Turnbough Maylee; one son, Josh Maylee; three brothers, Patrick Maylee, Michael Maylee, and Richard Maylee.

John was preceded in death by his father, John D. Maylee, Sr.
