John "Steve" Craghead, 69, died Thursday, January 9th at Woodhaven Village in Conroe, Texas after battling Alzheimer's Disease.
Steve was born in Fulton, and raised in Mexico. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1973 before graduating from Kansas State University in 1977 with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Steve met his wife Heidi in Paris, Tenn. and they were married in 1992. In 1993, they welcomed their only child, Amber. Steve worked for over 40 years as a mechanical engineer at both Plumley/Dana Corporation (Paris, Tenn.) and Freudenberg, NOK (Manchester, N.H.) where he got to travel around the world, including Japan, France, Germany, and Brazil. Steve loved his family, hunting, fishing, gardening/landscaping, grilling, traveling for work, golfing, and all things New England Patriots.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Wanda Craghead and sister Kathy Craghead. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Craghead, daughter Amber Smith, son-in-law Justin Smith, grandsons Atticus and Atlas Smith, his brother David Craghead and sister-in-law Penny Craghead.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Arnold Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
