John Kennedy Blackwell, 60, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Glenn Forman presiding.

Mr. Blackwell was born on April 28, 1961 in Louisiana, Missouri, the son of James Edward, Sr. and Rosemary (Treese) Blackwell.

John was a fun-loving person.  He enjoyed working with his hands and building things.  John was extremely artistic.  He used his talents doing wood carving and by tattooing.  John loved spending time with children and animals.

Survivors include three sisters, Karon Blackwell of Fulton, Tina (John) Frank of Mexico, Bobbie Jo Blackwell of Houston, TX; one brother, Richard (Pam) Blackwell of Mexico; his partner, Christina Del Rio, and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosemary Blackwell; two sisters, Mary Ann Howdeshell and Edith Lee Blackwell; two brothers, Donald Leroy Blackwell and James Edward Blackwell, Jr.; two nephews, Roy William Parker, Jr. and James Howdeshell.
