JoAnn Kathryn Maddux, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the University Hospital in Columbia.

JoAnn was born on May 8, 1951, in Montgomery County, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Elsie (Windsor) Hays.

JoAnn was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them that they will carry forever. Whether it was through simple moments of laughter or offering guidance, she always made sure her family knew how much they were loved.

An avid fisherman, JoAnn also found joy in spending time outdoors, casting her line and appreciating the serenity of nature. Her passion for fishing was just one of the many ways she found peace and happiness.

She is survived by two children, Amanda Benney and Robert Cotton both of Mexico; numerous grandchildren; three sisters, Gracie Dingledin, Darlene Cowles and Me Ruth Andreasen; and several nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by five sisters, Alma Knohoff, Mary Raines, Violet Nettles, Martha Holley and Helen Hays; and six brothers, Maurice Hays, James Hays, Thomas Hays, Robert Hays, David Hays and Charles Hays.
