Jerry Lee Teague, 87, of Mexico, Mo., passed away peacefully in his sleep on the afternoon of Monday, June 23, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, where he resided for the last four years. He was surrounded by family and a team of caring nurses at the time of his passing.

As the 12th of 16 siblings, Jerry was raised in Farber, Mo. After being part of the final graduating class of Farber High School before it merged with Vandalia High School to form Van-Far Senior High School, Jerry entered the U.S. Navy in 1956. He served two years in the Navy and was a part of the Navy Reserve for an additional four years.

Following his naval career, Jerry married Patricia (Pat) Williams of Columbia, Mo., and had three children, Matthew (Matt), Kathleen (Katy) and Andrew (Andy). He worked in construction before landing at North American Refractories Company (NARCO) in Farber, where he worked for more than 40 years, with a majority of that time serving as the Shipping Supervisor. He considered these some of the happiest years of his life. He also worked at Spartan Light Metal Products in Mexico for nearly 10 years before enjoying retirement.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed watching sports, meeting friends for morning coffee and visiting any casino he could find in Missouri.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat, children, Matt (Cortney) Teague, Katy (Steve) Park and Andy (Leslie) Teague and six grandchildren: Nathan (Nate) and Leah Teague, Aidan Essick and Allison (Allie) Park and Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Rachel Teague. He is also survived by brothers, Bill, Ronnie, Jim and Jack and sisters, Donna Tipton and Faye Teague, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Verdia Teague, brothers, Mack, Wayne and Bud, and sisters, Mildred Wilkinson, Jean Branstetter, Velma Motley and Mary Crow. Two additional siblings passed away as infants.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2 with a visitation at 11 a.m. at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.  A funeral mass will take place following the visitation at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Mexico at 1 p.m. Jerry will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis on Monday, July 7 at 12:30 p.m.
