Jerry Lynn Gipson, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Michael Moore will be officiating the service.
Jerry Gipson was born on August 29,1951 in Mexico, the son of Jess "J.E." and Vivian (Pulis) Gipson.
Jerry found great pleasure in tending to his garden, growing both vibrant flowers and vegetables with unwavering dedication. His interest extended beyond plants; he adored his four cats and two dogs, finding joy and companionship in their presence. A devoted sports fan, Jerry avidly supported the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals, often attending games alongside his beloved niece Kimberly. He had a strong love of music, highlighted by the cherished memory of attending a Jimi Hendrix concert. Jerry's kindness, warmth, and love for his family will always be remembered. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his son, Shannon (Shawna) Gipson of Alexis, IL; one daughter, Johanna (Joseph) Petty of Tallahassee, FL; one grandson, Nicholas Petty of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Helen (Charles) Black of Columbia, Margie DeVault of Mexico; one brother, Michael (Bobbie) Gipson from Louisiana.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Gipson; parents, J.E. and Vivian Gipson, one sister, Martha Jane Adkisson, and brothers in-law, Don DeVault, and Bill Adkisson .
