A celebration of life will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at VFW Post 3772 in Mexico, with full military honors at 11:15 A.M.
Jay was born on December 1, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Wilbur Paul and Jane Marie (Sutherland) Andrews. On April 17, 2008 he married the love of his life, Cathie Breaux in Sarasota, FL after a short courtship.
Jay served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his service, he returned to Michigan where he spent 37 dedicated years working at Ford Motor Company, UAW Local 892 in Saline, Michigan.
Jay was a kind and loving man to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impression with his warm heart and genuine spirit. He cherished every moment spent with family and friends, finding true joy in their company. Jay's contagious laugh could brighten any room, and his adventurous nature led him to embrace new experiences—whether trying different foods or seeking out new adventures. He also had a deep passion for gardening, taking pride in nurturing and growing things, a reflection of the care he showed to those around him.
